User Interface/User Experience
During the Fall 2025 semester, I developed my UI/UX skills in Figma through coursework and personal practice. I designed original app prototypes, including a Movie Seat Reservation app, a Travel planning app, and Neon Glaze—a bold exploration of neon aesthetics—among others. I also recreated screens from popular existing apps to master user flows, components, prototyping, and real-world UI patterns.
These projects highlight my ability to create intuitive, user-centered designs and build a strong foundation for my portfolio.
Frequent rail travelers face a stressful and unreliable commute due to existing transit apps that prioritize ticket booking over actual travel utility. During a typical trip, the user experiences data lag that hides platform announcements, app crashes while trying to show a ticket, a total lack of arrival alerts, and a loss of all ticket and schedule access when entering areas without a cellular signal, like tunnels. This combination of delayed information and technical failures ultimately leads to missed trains, ruined commutes, and delayed arrivals.
With the introduction of the Meridian app, the commuting experience is completely reimagined into a seamless, stress-free journey. The user receives early, predictive platform announcements and immediate boarding alerts, allowing them to board their train smoothly with time to spare. Even when traveling through tunnels, the app seamlessly transitions to an offline mode that instantly pulls up the digital ticket for the conductor. The redesigned journey eliminates boarding anxiety, ensures the user never misses a train, and successfully delivers a reliable, on-time travel experience.
Before starting my work, I wanted to practice by recreating existing apps, starting with a bare-bones version with almost no color, then working my way up to adding colors and icons.
The images on the left are the original existing app, and the images on the right are the recreated ones that I made.
